There is a good original Model B Five Window Coupe up for auction next weekend in Redwood City CA. I hope somebody that will preserve it buys it and keeps it out of hot rodders hands. Jim in San Jose

Re: Original 1932 Standard Coupe up for auction
I agree with ya Dave 100%.
I have a small issue with some terms like "original" and "restored" being tossed around so freely. We've all seen the ads "fully restored" only to read more and find out it's 12v, "updated" to hydraulic brakes, etc.

Re: Original 1932 Standard Coupe up for auction
Probably been in California most of it's life. The black and gold plates were standard issue in 1963. Looks like a nice rust free '32.It's one ugly color combination. Be interesting to see what it sells for in the auction.

I understand it sold for $22k. I don't know if that includes any fees or buyers premiums. Jim in San Jose

Re: Original 1932 Standard Coupe up for auction
My first car was a $50 B standard coupe like this one back in 1955 and I've had three more of them since. I'm with Robert; I like them just as they were built.

Re: Original 1932 Standard Coupe up for auction
Oh, I soooo agree with you. And, if I may add, many are done because they "think" they can. The results show all to often that they couldn't.
