Re: What Kind of 1928-1929 Cowl is This?
It appears to be from a 28/29 coupe, tudor, CCPU or AA truck. I am not sure about a fordor or cabriolet. It is definitely not a roadster, phaeton or OCPU. As far as a price, it look kind of rough and the gas tank is probably about the only part that is restorable without a ton of effort and maybe the firewall. It might bring a couple hundred bucks mainly for the gas tank assuming the gas tank is in decent condition - the gas tank filler has something on it, are the threads OK? Just my opinion.

It's for a Ford built body. Not Briggs (Fordor or Cabriolet) or Murray (Fordor).

Is that the usual 28-29 'threaded' gas cap? Or the 30-31 'slot' variety?

The cowl is off a 1928 - Mid1930 Pickup/Truck. Just look at the hinges. Those hinges are correct for Pickups/Trucks. It appears from the cap on it, that it might be the slotted style. If thats the case then this cowl was used from January 1930 to Mid1930.

Yeah...that is an early 30 AA truck cowl from the bayonet style gas cap on it. The tank in good condition is worth a few 100 dollars. No to so much if it needs to have rust holes repaired.

Last I know it was used, so I'm assuming it is usable. Is $90 too little to ask on it? I haven't committed to selling it but I should have asked what it was worth first.

I feel that that price would be appropriate. Jeff

it looks to have an after-market accessory (hinged) locking cap.

Re: What Kind of 1928-1929 Cowl is This?
Value or beauty is in the eye of the beholder . If a restorer looked at it they would clearly see the damages to the front firewall part of the tank . This part of the tank doesn't bolt on and would be a pain to replace or repair, same for the lower firewall . I can't tell much about the rear part of the tank from the pictures . My thought is it may be considered priceless to a person that wanted rare yard art . If I needed a tank I would look for a better candidate . No harm meant, Just my thoughts . If someone offers several hundred dollars, you would be very lucky .

Actually, early 1930 AA truck. Slide in hinges= pickup or AA. Twist on gas cap makes it early 1930 Aa truck.
