Model B Fuel Pump
I'm working on my "touring" motor and with the Weber downdraft carb they recommend a fuel pump. I've checked a few places and can't seem to locate one. Any recomondations on locating a pump (32 - 34 )

Re: Model B Fuel Pump
A 12 volt Holley pump will work fine on 6 volts. In fact it still puts out too much pressure and volumn, so you use a 4 ohm 50 watt resistor to drop it to the correct output. If you use the 12 volt pump with a 12 volt battery, then you need about a 16 ohm resistor. The 12 volt pump will be running on about 2.7 volts, so it takes less current, runs a bit slower, and will last longer.
This is an all metal rotary pump, so it has no diaphram to be damaged by crap gas. |
