Default Mechanical brake light switch, '40 Ford

Did a search on the forum for mechanical brake light switches, and come up 3 NAPA #s, SL 450, SL 453, and SL 128. Did a NAPA search, nothing close for a '40.
Anyone have a part # for mechanical switch for a '40.

Using DOT 5 so I am not going through the change pressure switch drills when it craps out. Thank you

I'm using the SW-42 switch from Ron Francis on my '32, '40 and '51. They are water proof and handle high amperage without the need for a relay. A simple angle bracket will locate them to stock '32 or '40 pedals, and extended m/c push rod on the '51.

Any current NAPA or other part #s. I didn't look at them, but Ron Francis seemed overpriced for another item of theirs. Thank you.

Thank you. That lever s/w looks like it might work. Don't like those bullet connectors, but they may be a work around.

Rockauto lists the same switch as Standard Motor Products # SL 450 for a '49 GM. The local NAPA store carried the same switch, both left & right versions SL128 & SL129. Made in Mexico. In stock because some are used a limit switch for dump trucks.

Shop around as those switches are available at most auto parts stores. Usually about $12-14. I've always used them. I mount them using 10-32 T nuts in the wood floorboards or a 10-32 nutsert in the steel floorboards.

Thanks to the Fordbarn on the mechanical brake SW. Saw a post on here a few years ago, and made a note of it. When came time to ditch the MC press. SW, I dug out my notes and started looking with Fordbarn help. Got the idea of mounting it under the floor board from here also. Just finished it today, and works great. I used 10-32 flathead screws to mount the SW on by drilling and tapping the floorboard 10-32, countersunk the heads, and made the screws long enough to put shims under the SW bracket to raise or lower it as adjustment if needed,
