Re: Pop out ignition
I'm interested in some original or high quality repops. I'm new to Model A's, so could some tell me how they work or what is the intention? Is it a safety feature?

Re: Pop out ignition
Quote:
When you turn the key the center of the ignition switch pops out (literally). The model A will start and run. You can take the key out and put it in your pocket. It is not needed until the next time you want to start. When you want to shut off the engine, push the pop out button in. The car will stop and won't start again until the pop out is "released" by the key. |

Re: Pop out ignition
Also, when the switch is pushed IN, the points are grounded, so you can't hotwire with a thin wire through the distributor.
