last production date for B blocks?

b block2.JPG this block seems to have a 1948 casting date and quite a few differences most significant of which is much heavier casting around H2O jacket. has anyone run across these before ? I didn't realize they were still being made that recent...I don't think its from outside US but suppose its possible? |

Thanks....thought those GAZ engines had shell bearings...must be confusing it for something else
