Mot,
Was the shroud one of the Snyder ones or someone else's. Please see if you can get the source or car it was originally used on. Thanks Quote:

Re: Serious close call !!
I have seen many posts on this site regarding the two blade fan and I agree with what was prevoiusly said. The new aluminum fan is the best 50.00 you will ever spend.

Re: Serious close call !!
Talking with a couple of guys at a local car show and the subject of fans came up. They said they were at a show a few years back and a guy had his hood up and was reving the engine and his fan came apart. One of the blades went down, struck the parking lot and bounced off the pavement striking a spectator in the neck. He didn't make it. It was not a model a.

Re: Serious close call !!
I had an original two blade just rip in half on Canada Day. Lucky for me I was just beginning to accelerate so all it did was dent and warp the side of the hood on the drivers side. This was at a relatively slow speed also so you can consider yourself fortunate that it didn't make contact with you.

Re: Serious close call !!
Sorry to hear about your fan, and thank the Lord your ok. I was working on my 28 Phaeton, installing a new alternator, and was checking the org. 2 blade fan and noticed the paint was cracked next to the hub and blade and saw a crack 3/8" to 1/2" long. I now have a new blade (2 blade) in it's place. I'm framing the old blade for the shop wall as a reminder. So glad you was standing behind the engine and doing ok, $50 is cheap for a fan blade, got mine from Mac's Antique Auto Parts.
