Default Rear brake roller track

I have been looking all over. Does some one have actual size pictures of the rear roller tracks. I have had mine weld and now would like to see what shape they need to be filed to. I know the edge that the pin heads sets on has to be 1" from the rivet right ?

Welding destroys the hardness and the repair will wear more quickly. It has been my experience that replacing the tracks is better for the long run. I prefer the parts as supplied by Bratton's. I have installed quite a few of the assemblies for men in our local clubs and have found tha other suppliers products don't fit correctly. Gar Williams

Welding the tracks shouldn't have a negative impact. Prior to late 1931 the tracks were installed unfinished and trimmed in place to a dimension of 4.620 from the centerline of the brake housing (backing plate). In late '31 they changed the process and installed pre-finished, hardened tracks which had to be precisely located. These tracks have a slightly different shape and are easy to spot when you find them.

The common type tracks have an undercut at the inboard end of each track. Ordinarily the wear area falls just short of that undercut leaving a very small area of the finished edge still undisturbed. Generally the wear area can be welded up without disturbing that original point of reference. However if it's too late and that point of reference has been obliterated I don't know of any option but to work from the centerline using the dimension above.
