Throwback Thursday
Okay
You barner's have had over a week to dig through you picture and find "past" gems of cars you bought, still own, sold or at some point "the one that got away"!! SO today I am starting with this 33 Standard 4cyl. My Mom actually saw this car one afternoon coming home from work about 2:30/3 o'clock!! The picture was taken at probably close to 5pm the "same" day when the "deal" was done!! It was about 45-48 years ago and this was "THE" one that got my V8 fire burning at the ripe age of 8-10 years old, the point where my interest and impending ability to drive were both lights at the end of what I believed to be a short tunnel!!! We still have it today and is one of the first projects to head the list to get moved to my new shop!!!! |

Re: Throwback Thursday
Great story, can't wait to see it done. 1964 my Dad bought me a '50 Tudor sedan for $5.00 from a guy he worked with, after driving it for two years I sold it, that started my quest for flathead Fords.

Re: Throwback Thursday
Every day is throwback day for me when I take the 52 Merc out for a spin. I didn't buy it but my dad did in October of 59 for $800. Most of you have heard the story before so here is a then and now picture of it.

The picture was taken in AR, at my grandfathers farm, in about 1951. Me and my grandfather are on the left. I didn't get a chance at that car. My father loaned it to a HS kid, in '55 and he had a small fender bender. It bent the r/f fender, broke the grill and radiator. It sat until 1960, and my dad had it hauled off for junk, before I got my license. Sad, because I can honestly say that I would still have that car today, if he hadn't done that. I still love those '39's.
