This and other videos of it have been hitting my inbox lately. A tremendous 17 year project and some great workmanship. Surprising that it performs so marginally, must be so many compromises made on the engines to keep it affordable and to scale.

Thats what they said, they de-rated the 80HP engines to 48HP. They didn't mention what or how they did that. I'm thinking they're just spinning them slower, but, not sure.
It looks as if it flies nicely though, didn't seem quirky.
If it flies like a real one then its a pleasure to drive. I have quite a bit of right seat time in the Fuddy Duddy.

Sounds like it doesn't fly like the original. Roll control was different as well. In one of the videos he explains that he removed the factory reduction gearbox to fit it in the cowl, so yes, it's an rpm thing.
