When Ford of Canada started building the "Bonus Built" trucks in 1948, they used an abbreviation of the GVWR in the model number. An F-47 1/2 ton was 4700 lb GVW. The Mercury equivalent was the M-47. They made it easy to tell how much it would weigh with a full load.

Many of the 41 pickups had the new cross member for the 6-cylinder G engine so some 41 models may have had different overall weights.
