Default Gas leak

Hello, looking for some assistance with a leaky carb. Suddenly its developed a gas leak seeping from where the choke rod enters the body. Before I remove and disassemble, I thought I'd ask for some hints or advice on what I might be looking for. Or what would cause the carb to leak from that area. Recently I had removed the tank for repair and that required removal of the choke rod. The carb was not leaking before that, and other than the rod being disconnected, nothing else was moved or changed on the carb.

Thanks!

Is the hex shaped valve tight in the carb. body? I had a loose one last week and every time I richened the GAV the valve tried to unscrew itself from the carb. and the carb did leak, after tightening no more gas leak. Also check float level and needle and seat.

There are two different sizes for the hex, so be sure to use the correct wrench, or you can round off the hex edges.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I managed to solve the issue (I think). First I neglected to mention that this is a '32 B motor, so the housing pictured above is much different than mine. There is no hex. (without disassembling, not sure what holds it in place) After the tank repair, when I re-installed the choke rod, I replaced the missing firewall grommet and had not noticed the hole on the firewall had been enlarged slightly to oval. I guessed was done to properly align the rod with the housing. With the grommet in place it must have been misaligned putting stress on the housing, causing the leak. In any case, I removed the grommet, realigned the rod to the housing, and watching for leaks. Dry so far!
