Default Maybe a dumb question

I'm away from my JS for a couple months.
Is there a difference [ STD v DLX] in the 28/29 roadsters and phaetons like there is in 30/31 ?
I'm thinking the 28/29 were all STD, but, not sure.

There were no deluxe 28/29 roadsters or phaetons. I have one of each. Some people like to kind of make them into "deluxe" looking vehicles by adding side mounts, and other accessories, but they are still standard cars with a lot of bell and whistles.

Aside from the differences in the early 28 cars with the early brake system, The main differences are the location of the hand brake lever, and the absence of outside door handles on the 28 open cars. There are other minor differences. No Deluxe open cars in 28-29.

I think we got a 28/29 sport phaeton offered here in OZ.

Fold down windscreen posts that were chromed.

Not sure about any other items.

I believe there was a Canadian "Sport" roadster in '29. It also had the chromed {or nickled} folding windshield stanchions. The cars had exotic, at least for Ford, paint schemes too. I do not know if they were officially called "Sport" roadsters by Ford, though.

31Abone,

In the movie "The Color Purple", of which I have only seen once. I believe there is a scene with a '29 2-door phaeton in it. It was many years ago and at the time. It did not dawn on me what it was or might have been in my imagination. Gon'na have to see it again to find out, I guess.

The sport roadster and phaetons in Oz had nickel plated windscreen posts and windwings. The posts were non-folding, the same as standard. I still have some original nickel plated posts in my parts collection. They also had some different colour combos from the std models, including coloured mudguards and wheels.
