Default 38 standard hood

I need to know if any other hood will fit my 38 Standard 5W Coupe? Need to louvre one to see if it helps cooling. Will a 37 hood fit? Any experienced advice appreciated, as they are not easy to find. Thanks in advance

38 standard hood is an orphan.
Louvers will help, but for a real difference, just leave off the side panels. It looks cool and costs nothing.

Can't leave sides off of a standard coupe. All one piece grill.

Very interesting. How long have you owned your Chevy now?

38 5w coupe with the hood not being the deluxe water fall type. Bottom of hood is flat, does not come to a point as a deluxe does.

Here's what my 38 Standard Coupe looks like, flat hood as you describe, removeable side panels... (The side panels also come together under the center/front of the hood to form the upper section of the grille)

Bingo!

Also, if you are overheating it may be a good time to find out why and address the problem/s rather than looking for a secondary fix. Having said that, no side panels is a cool look, especially if you've got some engine goodies or bling installed.
