38 standard hood
I need to know if any other hood will fit my 38 Standard 5W Coupe? Need to louvre one to see if it helps cooling. Will a 37 hood fit? Any experienced advice appreciated, as they are not easy to find. Thanks in advance

Re: 38 standard hood
38 standard hood is an orphan.
Louvers will help, but for a real difference, just leave off the side panels. It looks cool and costs nothing.

Can't leave sides off of a standard coupe. All one piece grill.

Very interesting. How long have you owned your Chevy now?

Re: 38 standard hood
Here's what my 38 Standard Coupe looks like, flat hood as you describe, removeable side panels... (The side panels also come together under the center/front of the hood to form the upper section of the grille)

Also, if you are overheating it may be a good time to find out why and address the problem/s rather than looking for a secondary fix. Having said that, no side panels is a cool look, especially if you've got some engine goodies or bling installed. |
