Default Dash Lamp Cap

My 1930 has a chrome plated push type dash lamp cap.
The bulb wasn't working so I replaced it.
I put the cap on and the light will not go out unless I take the cap off.
Any recommendations?
Thanks

Is it an original light or repro? The repros are notoriously difficult. If it's an original, it's an alignment problem with the cap and the body. Probably the same thing if it's a repro, but not as easy to correct.

It turned out to be an alignment problem. . .and it was an original.
Thanks again.
