Front engine mount fine point question
Hi Folks,
I am doing a fine Point restoration on a 1931 Roadster. I need help identifying the correct front engine support (mount). The Judging standards say my car should have a stamped steel front engine support. The standards go on to say 2 different stamped steel mounts were used. The early one with a 25/32 dimension from the yoke portion of the stamping to the finished surface of the motor support stud, and the later version with a 1-1/16 dimension from the yoke to the finished surface of the support stud. My car should have the late version with the 1-1/16 dimension. I have several stamped steel mounts, one of which is NOS. All seem to be the early version with the 25/32 dimension. I am not 100% sure of where this dimension was actually taken on the mount. My mounts seem to be of the early design and I do not think I have ever seen a late mount. Can someone tell me if the standards are actually correct and post a picture of the mount I need? Thanks in advance for every ones help. Chris W. |

Re: Front engine mount fine point question
Don't you love it when sizes are called out without showing where/how the measurements are made. Steering shafts, horn-rods, brake rods, just makes the answers into another question.
