34 road trips
Getting bored on vacation in Australia, checked through my camera and iPad and I know you guys love photos - here's a few on roads less travelled in the South Island, New Zealand.

Re: 34 road trips
Great Photos!! It is so good to see someone not afraid of driving their old car! This is what people did with them when they were new! Is your car all original? Brakes?

Re: 34 road trips
I love it! The snow scenes remind me of Minnesota. What size are the wheels and tires on the car? And, is the paint color unique to New Zealand?

Some scenes are like Mohave high desert. Maybe more water.

Re: 34 road trips
Having a 34 Fordor also, my eyes are drawn to your "Blue Beauty" first and I can not seem to care much about the rest of the scenery. Thanks for sharing.

Re: 34 road trips
love it, Love It, LOVE IT! That's what these cars were made for, DRIVING, and it looks like you're not at all afraid to take your Ford anywhere (in all weather, too). It's amazing how something designed, engineered and manufactured 80-plus years ago is still bringing joy to so many people.

Re: 34 road trips
Good to see you have all enjoyed the photos , Old Henry , not up to your standard. I have owned the car for over 45 years, drove it for a couple of years then it was parked up about 40 years . Pulled it out of the shed a few years back and rebuilt all the running gear and had an upholstery kit fitted. The body is sporting at least 45 years of patina , the colour was originally maroon, some one has painted it blue many years ago. Motor is a 37 221 cu in, Brakes are still rod with Teds floaters, wheels are 35 with 205R 16 AT radials.
Rob yeah all good , would like to be going down to Victoria for the Nationals , but need to get home and back to work |

Re: 34 road trips
Thank you for posting your pictures. You have a very nice '34 Fordor and have taken some gorgeous pictures of your travels. It's great to see others who enjoy driving their old cars rather than just leaving them parked and covered in their garage. Seeing these pics reminds me of some of the scenery we had driving our early Fords from Gettysburg, PA, to Lake Tahoe, NV, during the Early Ford V-8 Club's Cross Country Tour, here in the USA, back in June, 2013.

Great photos. Thanks for sharing. I particularly liked photo #11 from the first set, it says to me "Yes I have 100% confidence in my '34."

Re: 34 road trips
Hi there, thanks for the nice pictures. Love your 34 standard fourdoor. I have one just like it, but dark blue. Wife and I just returned From a coach tour of the south island and the Wanaka Warbirds air show last week. Not snowing like your pics though. We did a couple of places shown in your pics including that big bridge. Thanks again for posting. Regards, Kevin.
