Default 8 ba rod bearings

Hello, have a,question that I, would like to know the answer to. Have a, set of nos 8BA rod bearings (FORD OF CANADA) they have no oil hole, also set of clevite bearings with 1, oil hole and a, set of sealed power bearings with 2,oil holes. Does anyone know why the difference? Also can the bearings be miss matched (7, rods with no oil holes and 1, rod with 1, or 2, hole bearings? )Thank you for your time and answers. MIKE

During early production the 8BA style engine(8RT-8CM etc.) did not have squirt holes. Later the squirt holes were introduced and bearings made to match. In the case of the double holes, this occured when some rod rebuilding companies began adding a "universal" squirt hole to the rods which eliminated the orientation requirement. The new hole was not located according to the original Ford design. One of the companies adding the new hole, at time of rebuild, was Sealed Power. The 8BA engines have run for millions of miles with no hole, one hole, 2 holes, and with rods mis-located. I would not be concerned about any rod bearings with an extra hole, or two.
