Need help ID'ing this synchronizer
I found this transmission synchronizer in my "stuff" and would like to know what year, make Ford car it fits. It was tagged 1940 to 48 but, I am not sure that's correct as it sure looks different from the 1940 versions I have seen. I don't see any balls, springs , inserts or spring clips like the 40's used.
THANK YOU. |

There's balls and springs in there, I think some versions had more, 32-38ish had the integral blocker rings

Re: Need help ID'ing this synchronizer
1932-38 used the same hub, but the outer sleeve came in two flavors. There was the first version that measures 1.406” width (front to rear). Then in 1935 Ford changed the outer sleeve to a slightly narrower dimension of 1.345” wide. You have to match the sleeve to the cluster gear in the transmission. The early sleeve (B-7106) goes with the B-7113 cluster gear. The later sleeve (48-7106) goes with the 48-7113 cluster gear.
