pre fit and alignment
47 sedan-coup is ready for paint, have the bare body on a cart and plan to paint it on the cart. Will pre fit all sheet metal, doors, hood and trunk for proper alignment, and paint them off the body. My question is should the body be back on the frame to pre fit ,or can the body be left on the cart to pre fit. Thank you for your recommendations and time. Mike

Re: pre fit and alignment
I'm just at the paint stage on my 46 coupe and I painted the firewall off the frame and then mounted the body, and bolted it down. It's harden then you think. After that I painted the inside of the trunk lid, and door jams on the car and the jams on the doors. I also did the inside of the grill and cowl vent. I still have to mount the doors as I would like them to be on the car before I paint them but the front fenders and hood will be off the car. The trunk lid is now back on the car for paint. Hope this helps.
