Thunderbird seats
There is someone I know that has a set of 63 T-Bird bucket seats. They aren't exactly pretty but they seem pretty solid and usable as is and for the price, he was asking it seems like too good of an offer to pass up, and I think this would really make my hot rod stand out. I'll try getting a couple of pics loaded up later thanks

They're out of a '66.

Re: Thunderbird seats
Those may be wider than what you'd want these may be a better fit and since they came from a two door they fold forward also nice price https://jxn.craigslist.org/pts/d/cla...320950015.html The 1991-97 T-Birds buckets fit well and adapt to a flat floor also very comfortable might find some in good shape at Pick-A-Part yards.

Re: Thunderbird seats
Well, with Taraus or S-10 seats you are crossing into "modern" street rod teritory. Thats fine if thats what your '47 is. If it depicts a "traditional" style '50s-'60s hot rod, then go w/the T-Bird seats. Speedway Motors has some nice old school bucket seats in there catalog.- F F

Re: Thunderbird seats
Those T-Bird seats will not be a good choice for your hot rod. They look terrible.

Re: Thunderbird seats
Yes, as alt63bird said they're 66, not 65. I agree with 19Fordy, I'm afraid, but maybe not for the same reason.
I think the reclining passenger seat option is cool, but it will connect visually mostly to t-bird guys. At first glance for many people, those seats will look like they came out of two different cars...unless they're in a nicely done 66 t-bird. And won't match the back seat if you have one. For your application, I personally would look for two seats that match. If you don't care so much how they look or first impressions - and that is a legitimate perspective - then put them in. |
