29 Tudor Headliner question

29 Tudor--Is there a trim cord where the interior side panels meet the headliner?

I have seen the cord on some other A's but they were not 29 Tudor's.

If you mean the windlace, it is around the door opening only, not at headlining join. Cheers

Seaming lace is a small diameter bead-shape material, and it may have been intended to hide gaps between upholstery panels. Some Model A's have a seaming lace between the headliner and the panels the headliner interfaces with.

Wind-Lace is a larger diameter bead shape which is found around the perimeter of doors. Doors are fit to car bodies with gaps to assure a production fit without interference in the body openings. The gaps are unsightly, and allow uncomfortable drafts in the car. Wind-Lace hides the gaps and stops the drafts.

Hey Fred, you are correct in that the Tudors did not have Coachlace. Coachlace (-along with Windlace) is a term carried over from the Carriage builder days. The next time you are here, I will show you how we make it.
