This is the nicest restored low mileage 1932 Ford Woodie I know of and I am familiar with most that have surfaced over the past 46 years (that is how long I've owned this one). I bought it from an ad in the February 1975 issue of Cars and Parts magazine. The ad read: "FORD 1932 WOODIE WAGON. Show condition. Former Hershey winner. Best one around. $10,000.00 firm. Rowayton, Connecticut."

On February 27, 1975 I drove to Rowayton and met with the owner, Robert Keelups. The pictures he had sent did not do the car justice...it was even better. A fresh high-end restoration.

It had 43,829 miles on it. Today is has 43,996 miles....167 miles in 44 years.

The history of the car that I have been able to trace is that it was restored by Snyder's Garage, RD #2, Mount Joy, Pa. The restoration was completed in 1959 for the then owner, Earl Herbst of Southbury, Connecticut.

It received a National First Prize Winner plaque from the Antique Automobile club of America (AACA) at Hershey in 1964. The plaque is still mounted on the dashboard. It also appeared as the Feature Car of the Month on the cover of Hemmings Motor News in October of 1967.

Its restoration included NOS rear fenders, running boards, exhaust system, hubcaps, radiator cap and engine pans. The exact color and textured rear floor mat came from special 100-foot run of floor mat material made by an early Ford V8 Woodie hobbyist back in the 80's. The floor pan and rear wheel wells, which typically show signs of rust, are rust free. The fit and finish of the original wood is next to perfect. From the correct top material/tack strip/guttering to the NOS Firestone tires, it is one of the finest examples of a 1932 Ford Station Wagon that exists today.

I feel that I have served my term as caretaker of this fine Woodie, and now it is someone else's turn. Let's make a deal.
