Shipping A 'T'
I've found a Runabout I like in Kansas, but when I request a quote on shipping I get dozens of calls, emails and texts every 5 minutes! Is there a better way to get shipping costs? Is there a transport company that people might recommend? I live in Iowa.

Reliable Carriers, Passport Transport, Intercity Lines.
All professional and fully insured enclosed transport. Avoid the broker thing. |

Ditto on GZ. Pay a little more and get safe arrival. Too many horror stories from people
using the cheapo guys.... |

Truly Vintage is on here regularly. Has a tremendous reputation and often transports museum quality vehicles. Wayne

Thanks for the ideas. I did contact one and it was over $1,000. I suppose that's about average.....

I have considered just driving it home myself. It's only 363 miles. It's possible. Just take an extra day.....or two.

Unless you are familiar with overall mechanical condition plus tires, gasoline costs, expenses for at least 2 people it may not be a wise decision! Money not spent is not always money saved ! Trust me i’ve been there!

While I appreciate the vote of confidence......I've never sat behind the wheel of one before. I have owned many old cars (I know they are different) and bought a '28 A last May. I am waiting to hear back from the seller to see if the guy he knows can deliver it at a more affordable price. |

Re: Shipping A 'T'
I think your original question was looking for a transport company, was it not? There is a big difference! The professional has proper equipment, proper training and insurance! The next door neighbour you fly by the seat of your pants!

Re: Shipping A 'T'
so cost does matter to some of us...............lol!
363 miles for over 1000 dollars is a bit steep. before this gas gouging, I shipped cars from Cali to NJ for 1000. yep, almost 3000 miles! I would rent an open trailer and truck and go pick it up myself. |
