Default optma in a ford scritp box

I can now make a fiberglass box that is a copy of ford script battery .
this box is thin and will hold an optma 6v battery ---small 12 v battery and small 6v battery. cost should be around $65 ( not firm yet )
call me at 510-889-1933 Nick

No top-- yes picture show's (New 6v optma) not sure about lou --do you have a phone number ? deminsions are 10.5 X &.25 X 7.25 (same as original battery)
Note : If you buy an optma its looks funny and is hard to mount . You need to make a box or somthing to put in original battery box--- this solves that problem .
I guess I could make a top ----I will look into that
any other questions??????

Nick, I have an original case from years ago, and a top for the Optima, if you're going to the Xmas party on the 14th, I'll bring it so you can see how the top needs to be. Let me know?

Nick- There will be plenty of interest, especially if you have a top. The case looks a little thin, you might consider a thicker one but it looks nice so far.

Nick, I don't see much appeal to your box. What guys are looking for, is something that's very visible in the engine compartment, that hides the Optima. Thus the need for a very convincing top, which is the real challenge for you.

I'd like to get on this as well. A proper top would probably be mandatory, however.

My quest was for 1933-34. not 37-40 . in 33-34 the only thing you see is the side's, the top is covered by the battery box top wooden cover. The only way to see top is to pull floor mat back take of wood cover and look. in your car 37-40 you see the whole battery. Also the 37-40 is a different battery. If you want one C&G sells an optma in a script box that looks real good ( go on line ad see pictures ) only problem is the battery is 1 in taller than stock and quite pricey. I am looking into making a top but if I did it would not be correct for 37-40.

box is made thin on purpose . More room for whatever battery you use. I am going to use this case in a 34 4-door that I just found and bought 35K original miles-never been apart-still has original alum heads & and all cotter pin still there. super nice car.
the replacement 6 v battery I found for $85 + tax is small and needs this box so as battery will not bounce around. since the top od new box is same height as original --battery hold down will work. One could make a wooden box to do the same thing but that would not look good. Just thought of one other thing. One could make a copy ( full size) and glue it to wooden box then all would be good

Does this guy have or make the plastic tops? I need one for my Ford script battery box that I got from Antique Auto Battery, cracked top that they will not help with.

I called Roy and at first he could not understand what I was talking about but when he finally did (I hope) said he no longer has these parts. I had a similar conversation years ago with Lou Trinque,I guess when he was slowing down,I have tried many years to get one of these plastic tops to replace my crumbled tar top piece of crap that Antique Auto Battery supplies. I wish I still had access to an NC mill and a nice piece of black delrin.
