1935 ford manifold

Relative to the 1935 ford manifold I have the following questions.
1. Is the manifold cast iron or aluminum when the car left the factory?
2. Was the manifold painted ford green?
3. Were there different manifolds available or was there only one.
4. I have seen both ford green and aluminum painted manifolds. Which one is correct?

35 Fords left the factory with aluminum Intake manifolds and Aluminum Heads


There were "basically" two different intake manifolds for 1935 - Early & Late

This would be a proper 35 motor appearance, I believe from Dave Collett's 1935 Roadster, Note it is equipped with a radio SO there are a few "extra" details of the motor that are for a radio equipped car like the generator cut out for one!!! The suppressed plug wire ends would be another as well as the stud with fender washer on the cowl for mounting the radio. It also has extra lines for a Columbia two speed rear end so a few copper lines are present that most likely you will not have!!!

Yes Sir. Correct "assumption". Aluminum heads and intake - stock - NOT painted!! AS post #4 shows

The engine block is still ford green I assume.

As well as water pumps, crank pulley, motor mount/water outlets...all painted green

1935 production heads and intake manifold for cars are aluminum. Same for 1935 pickups. 1935 trucks have cast iron heads and intake manifold. 1935 service replacement heads were both aluminum and cast iron. This is why there is often some confusion between cast iron and aluminum heads and intake manifolds. Rockfla is right on regarding the correct parts for cars since you have a 1935 car.
