Check Speedway for an aftermarket wheel. Also Juliano's in Connecticut. Got a hot rod shop around you?

As Paul said, Speedway. Grant makes an adapter for your truck, and that will probably be the cheapest route. Watch how deep the dish is. I’ve made that mistake and ended up with the wheel in my chest before. The diameter makes a big difference in effort on manual steering, and also on driving positions for your arms. I’ve made that mistake too.

Mistakes seem to be how I learn. LOL

Changing to A smaller dia wheel will make it very hard to steer ,I changed mine on my 53 to A wheel off A 57/60 f-100, it was still 17" in dia ,like the original ,but A better look ,

I latter installed A power steering set up from CPP, hard part was finding A bracket for power steering pump on flathead. the truck now steers like A modern truck ,I also installed A 5 speed in the 53 .

+1
There was a reason for the large steering wheels back then p/s is almost a necessity with a smaller wheel.

Without power steering, I agree with others on staying with a larger wheel. An inch or inch and a half smaller might still be ok.
