Radiator Question - Fits What
I recently bought this radiator for my 30/31 Model A chassis. It fits just fine however when I went to install the 30 shell the attaching tabs are about a 1/2" too long. So what does this radiator fit? I looked at Model B radiators, but this doesn't have the two screw tabs on the bracket near the filler neck. Could it be for AA trucks?

Re: Radiator Question - Fits What
if the shell fits around it id say an 30/31 aa truck - radiators were thicker.

Re: Radiator Question - Fits What
If it has four rows of tubes it is an AA radiator.

Have you considered cutting the tabs and drilling new holes?

Re: Radiator Question - Fits What
I bought this radiator recently from someone here on the forum, it was sold as holding water, however when I installed it leaked in several spots the worst being the bottom of the upper tank. So instead of paying $45 to send it back, the seller suggested that I scrap it and recoup some of my money that way. In that it isn't a Model A passenger car radiator I really don't want to put any more money into it or cob it up to fit. However before taking it to the scrap yard I wanted to check to make sure it isn't something rare or unusual. I'd still like to know definitively what it fits. I know the later AA trucks used a different radiator shell than the cars, but wasn't sure if they were wider too. It doesn't appear to be a 4 row radiator. If anyone has interest in it let me know.

Don't scrap it. I'd fix it or have it recored. New ones are just too expensive.
If you don't want it, I'm sure someone else would, even if you have to give it away, that's better than scrapping it. At least save the frame and tanks if you scrap the core. |

Re: Radiator Question - Fits What
I would have the radiator fixed and relocate the shell brackets. Don't scrap it. Do the fins have the original little dimple on them?? Brassworks and others want $700.00 to $900.00 for new radiators. My radiator shop (I know I am really lucky to have one) will do a recore for $500.00. Please do not throw that thing away with out at least saving the tanks and sides.
