Really Old Rusties in a Field
Don't know about old Fords or even if these are Fords, but passed these beauties today out in a mountain field. Check out the wheel rims, rear end assemblies and that engine with 4 bladed fan and horn. There's a differential in there with an OD on it ? Hope someone saves some of this. I could inquire with owner if these's any interest. Also noted these on V8 Club. Dan

Quote:
If this is the differential you are referring to, it is not a two speed, but a worm gear.

Re: Really Old Rusties in a Field
Dig the tire chains! You know the last time it was driven, it was VERY muddy or heavy snow and ice. I drove Interstates for ten years in my 98 F-150. I saw the coolest cars just out rusting in the weather, while driving through rural Colorado and New Mexico. 30's through 60's cars, like every ten miles or so. Pretty well preserved, from the dryer weather. That's where I'd want to look, if I ever sell my 50 F-1. Maybe I have room for one more?

Re: Really Old Rusties in a Field
The upright cab truck has its radiator slumped in front of it. That open-frame model truck with its original gas tank has a 1956 NY State plate and also its engine. I see 1930's car style rear ends and wire rims in the background.

Re: Really Old Rusties in a Field
1920's Model TT trucks, that square cab has value, so do the rear ends and wheels.

Re: Really Old Rusties in a Field
Wiki says TT's were made 1917-1927. Many versions of the cabs were made. Commercial, funeral, police paddy wagons, small buses. Thought so that cab could become something - by a person in need of same. There's two engines, a set of horns, a couple steering columns/boxes, and body frames. As noted, there are two or three worm-gear and two car differentials, plus wire wheel rims. Darn farm kids (was one in the 1940's myself) .... got bored and busted-up that radiator. I'd like that 1956 license plate tho.

In photo of the cab-less one with the tire chain on passenger rear tire, rusty license plate sitting at an angle next to that wheel.
