I recieved the Jim Schild 'Model A Ford Originality Guide' for a recent birthday. Always eager to learn more about my standard tudor, I noticed an interior color note of Cowl; Two Tone Brown, Dash-grain Cardboard, moldings Maroon. My car came with the small brown checked upholstery, Lombard Blue (like body) dash rail, tank, both with pin striping, blue window moldings & black kick panels. I know the pin stripe is wrong for a standard. If I were to correct these colors someday, what are the 'two tones' of brown and maroon? Do they appear in the PPG 'Antique Ford Repaint Manual'?
From some photos in the Schild Guide, it looks like the dark brown is on the upper dash rail, the lighter brown is on the gas tank behind the instruments, the side window sills are maroon and the kick panels match the door upholstery color. Most all the A's I've seen have had body color tanks inside whereas that could be wrong in most cars.
