Sounds like some of you need to buy the proper tools,19/32 and the 8 point sockets are not really hard to get.

No, my problem is someone already used the wrong tools.
BTW, my con rod nuts are 21/32" and main bolts are 9/16" square. I have both sockets.

Wanna bet? Any of the old imperial sizes are a curiosity now, let alone such an odd ball size. I've never seen an 8 point socket either.
As for the square heads on the main bearing bolts, I file them down a little till they fit in an ordinary 1/2" drive socket. I welded a couple of old sockets together as an adaptor for my 1/2" drive handles. Easy!
