That'll depend on the radiator... With an original, I would keep it low, 3-4 lb... I've got an aftermarket in the A V-8, I run 16 lb... Karl

7 pounds is safe. 180 thermostats. I have an 8BA in my 40 with a Walker radiator and cap. No problems. I use double clamps on each hose connection to make sure the hoses don't come loose.
