Default Happy Day!!

Today I started my 30 Town Sedan and drove it out of the garage under it's own power. I put a temporary (unfinished) seat into it so I could press on the clutch pedal. And I will posting some pictures. It's been seven years and still plenty to do, but this is a milestone.

See if you can get a video - you will want to remember this moment for a long time.

Good for you Terry! Better rack up some miles now. Snow (and salt) will be coming soon.

I hope you get to enjoy some time on the road with her.

I have pics of the TS out side with the engine running but that's all. I don't have video capacity, (Wish I did) But I wouldn't know how to post it anyway. Sorry!

I remember that feeling of actually driving the chassis for the first time. What a thrill! Congratulations and keep on...before you know it, you will be done and then have to find another. Then another, etc. You could do worse things with your time.

No way is this thing gonna see the road before the new year. It's at bare minimum drivability now. 1st, the generator isn't working, 2nd The steering box needs a lot of work. 3 rd the brakes are kinda funky! And that's just the stuff I know about! But it Goes!

That will be the first of many joys you will enjoy. Just concentrate in one item at the time and before you know all will be completed. Congratulations!

yup, there is a finite amount of parts and bolts that put anything in the world together. If you just focus on the handful of parts of lets say just the front brakes only focus on them, dont be ordering door handles with brake pads. Get them absolutely to spec and pay close attention to wear items. Do it once and do it right haha. Then when they are done set them aside and focus on the rears doing the same things.

Then the glorious day comes when you get to mate them to the car. Your efforts will be rewarded with very good brakes that adjust easily. You cant just slap a set of shoes on like modern disc brake cars and call it good (i have had to weld up and grind smooth again wear points on my s10 and chevettes drum brakes before FYI)

its very easy to get overwhelmed taking on a basketcase so its important to focus on one item at a time.

Congrats Terry.

I remember that day. I got to do it twice on the same car.
Once in 1987 and again last year.

Time to celebrate.
