Locomobile Pictures
Got over to Dick Headman's garage the other day when he was there to get some pictures of the Locomobile.

Re: Locomobile Pictures
Nice car and would be fun to own and drive. Heck, I'd even settle for being a back seat passenger.

Re: Locomobile Pictures
That interior pattern is wild. Would the original have looked like that?
this is basically a custom car- the owner could have chosen anything they wish. |

Re: Locomobile Pictures
It is an original 1914 Locomobile. Talked to the owner today, and they now have all the electrical issues resolved. They are going to start on getting the engine to running. The engine displaces over 500 cubic inches. There are only two of these known in existence. The coachwork is French, but was built in the US.

Re: Locomobile Pictures
Great looking car. As Tom said, being a back seat passenger would be a nice experience.

Re: Locomobile Pictures
A Locomobile 48 is probably my top "dream car". I doubt it will ever happen, but if I ever hit the Power-Ball....

Re: Locomobile Pictures
Very nice car. What a fabulous interior. You can tell it was very expensive on its day. Thanks for sharing photos.

Re: Locomobile Pictures
As a kid on Long Island in the 1950's and 60's, friends of my parents had a 1920's motoryacht that had a Locomobile engine. I remember that engine as being absolutely huge. If the boat is still around I'm sure it's been repowered, probably because they needed a part to tune it up.
