Default Front Fender Brackets

The front fender brackets on the 1930 frame on my 1930 CCPU are of the steel stamped design. In comparing the two, off-frame, side by side, it appears one of the brackets is out of shape. See attached picture. In my judgment, I believe the left front fender bracket is the correct shape. My question is how to determine which one is curved correctly? I do not have any others to compare them to! A picture of a correctly shaped bracket would be beneficial, but is there any other way to determine what is correct?

Thanks.

Fit them to the front fenders that you are going to be using and see which one either lines up perfectly or which on is closer, and then you will know which one is at least closer to being correct.

By the picture, the one on the left looks straighter. I looks like there is a twist on the one on the right.

From experience I can say that you need to fit to the parts.

I set up the fender brackets and headlamp bar to fit together properly and then set up the fenders to line up properly. I needed to adjust the far point of the bracket.

Later I bought a pair of NOS brackets. I made a jig from them so I could check the fender brackets. After I made the jig I tried the brackets I adjusted based on best fit. These brackets were almost a perfect fit to the jig.

So it appears what looks right and fits right is right.

From what I've seen, these brackets are very prone to cracking at the base (where they connect to the frame) This cracking or near cracking, tends to alter the angle at which they come off the frame. Mine are so bad, someone welded 3/16" plates onto them.
