1941 Commercial Upholstery Question
Hello! I am new to the Early V8 board but a long time lurker and rare poster over in the Model A area. I am looking at the Howard Towne book from the V8 club about the 1940 and 1941 commercial vehicles. It mentioned that the truck interiors for these two years were originally green imitation leather and green grained cardboard regardless of body color. Anyone have any idea about this green? Olive drab? (Ok) mint julep (ugh). Any ideas on we’re to find a sample or supplier? Really curious.
Thanks! |

Re: 1941 Commercial Upholstery Question
Not an expert in these years of the trucks. But if you want to quickly see the color green. Just google some restored trucks and you will quickly see a lot of that specific green color of both vinyl and cardboard. It was basically a Hunter Green. Not sure who makes that anymore, sorry I can't help you there.
For instance go here to Bring a Trailer to their Ford Pickup 1940's link; and you'll see a lot of high value stock restored trucks used that correct green interior you're talking about. https://bringatrailer.com/ford/pickup-1940-1947/ |
