Default starter. drive/bendix

seams with a model A there is always another first time. first time i have seen a starter drive like this.
have you ever used this type of drive?

Yup, I had one. They are the original drive used by Ford for a short time and only on the 1/2" shaft. They made a very "hard" engagement. I sold mine to a US collector of such things.
