Sun dist tester
Hi all,
I just grabbed this tester and discovered it is from 46. Will I be able to use it on my 57 dist? Mike

Re: Sun dist tester
Probably. Close up of the gauges would help. Big deal (here at least) would be if it also worked on a loadomatic. Didn’t flatheads use those then? Or later? Cool find.

Re: Sun dist tester
I am not buying any more of these test sets. Everytime I buy one it supposedly works. And it does not. No one will fix them either. 1 charging and starting, and 2 scopes. I trashed 'em. Tons of honest rip-off artists.

Re: Sun dist tester
Here are the gauges. The unit was made in 45/46.

Re: Sun dist tester
Dwell, vacumn and distributor rpm is a good start. Someone one here is going to know if it shows an advance curve (missing attachments?). But just being able spin it up and make sure the dwell is stable tells valuable info out wobble etc. Someone will know, I’m sure. If not I’ll take the pictures down to the guy I know with a machine and get his take on it.

Re: Sun dist tester
Well did some did some dusting and found some things good and bad. First off, found out the wiring is all Mickey moused up; second, I found one of the side panels; third I found out the strobe is missing. So the machine may be garage art until I can replace it.
