Thumbs up Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons

He did what FOMOCO was too cheap to do.

Absolutely beautiful detail.

You can see that the roof is not from a 55-56 wagon. Could have come from a 59 Edsel- seems that the y had a lot lower profile. A beautiful build in any case.

Post Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons

The roof would have to have been chopped as the HDTP had a lower/sorter WS (and door glass) than the SEDAN and SW.

I am wondering why he didn't trim it out with 1956 PARKLANE MLDGS ... ...

^^^^ It also has a 1955 "V8" emblem on front of fender. Love the colors!
Those 14 in. wheels & caps look pretty good on there, too. IMH.

In 1956 they also used that emblem for the base 272 two barrel V8.
292 and 312 had the Thunderbird emblem there instead. No emblem was the 6 cyl.

Yes I remember the Thunderbird emblem in 1956, but I didn't realize they used the V8 one for the 272 equipped cars. Learn something all the time on here.
Thanks! - F F

Yes, my first car (a '56 4 dr. wagon) had the T Bird emblems, w/a 292 from the factory. - F F
