Default Interior upholstery kits

A newbie here to the early ford scene.. T-Roy on the HAMB, but it's been quite some time since I've posted anything. Anyway, I recently acquired a 36 Fordor std sedan. Seems I've read that Lebaron Bonney kits are quality. What other quality made kit manufactures are there? Thanks.

I have a "40 Sedan and my LeBaron kit showed up on my doorstep Friday night from UPS. I opened the box and took it to the guy who's going to do the upholstery work. He was amazed at the quality of material in the box. Everything is pre cut ready to go. That is my May project. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I had Lebaron Bonney upholster the seat and put a kit together for the rest of the interior for my 31. I didn't want wool for fear of moth damage so I purchased some original looking material made of nylon from SMS in Canby, Oregon. The folks at Lebaron Bonney had no problem working with this material. The seat came out probably better than original and the rest of the kit went in without a hitch. Super quality here with these people, a lot of attention to detail and timely delivery.

I presently have a kit ordered from Macs for my 34. It has been 11 weeks and still no kit. I called today for an update and won't hear until sometime next week so not very impressed with macs.

I'll second the motion for LeBaron Bonney.........I've used their kits three times , one of the installations was done at their factory.......they have been great to work with and the quality of their products is excellent.......

I would also recommend LeBaron Bonny. I have used them on the last 4 converts I have done and they have always delivered superior products on time and at a very reasonable price. The upholstery guys near me charge excessive prices for average quality work and cannot compete with pro's like LeBarron Bonney in my opinion. Their customer service people are exceptional and a pleasure to deal with.

I used Cartouche in my Model A , went in with no problems and I'm satisfied. Used indoor-outdoor carpet on floor. Zeke

Thanks guys! I appreciate the responses. I want the interior to have a near stock appearance. But, I want to do the seats in dark brown leather (maybe vinyl) and door panels to match. Looking at the Lebaron Bonney site it's hard to know exactly what to order.. I think I'm going to make some phone calls this week. I have pictures in my head what I want, but hard to figure out exactly when looking at all the options that are out there!

I just added some pictures of the car to my albums.

So, bringing this old thread up to date with some pictures of the finished interior from Lebanon Bonney. My wife and I have been driving the '36 since last June. It's really comfortable and my wife says she prefers to drive the old Ford as opposed to her 2015 Honda.. Doh, I must not have edited a couple of the pictures unless the dome light was installed incorrectly.. lol

I bought and installed myself a LeBaron Kit in my 35 tudor 10 years (I was only 75 then) ago. It is as nice as then even still smells like new car. The only trouble was installing the headliner, couldn't get the wrinkles out until a friend told me to lightly spray it with water and let it dry with doors and windows closed over night. Beautiful, and still is. Expensive but worth it.

LB has equipment (some computerized) that most mom & pop trim shops can only dream about. Their videos show some of the cutting equipment they have. Most of us that do are own have to do cutting and stitching the old fashioned way, by hand.

LB worked for me.
Complete interior '40 coupe kit cost $550 in '78.....still great.
Not cheap, but won't make you say "bleep".

Thanks for the nice comments! This is the first car I've owned that's had a really nice interior. We had the interior installed by a guy in Bakersfield, does Lupe ring a bell with anyone? He's supposed to be the best around and I have no complaints. We had the front carpeted as well, which he made a pattern for from the rubber mat that was included with the LB kit.

I ordered a headliner from Cartouche and it fit perfectly. The rest of the interior, I upholstered myself. It was easier than I expected.Much like carpentry but more forgiving. Total cost was under $500 (including $200 for the headliner).I didn't use original materials or patterns but it looks period correct and goes well with the exterior colors.

Wow, beautiful job @Willit Stop! Good on you for accepting that task of upholstering yourself.
