Throttle control linkage month
Just reviewed the most recent post and saw what may be my next concern. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to reattach a the throttle control assembly that was taken off 14 years ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You guys are two for two with earlier problems. Don't give up on the rookie yet. (Motor startup date is May 25 th) |

Re: Throttle control linkage month
The throttle control linkage assembly mounts on the back of the transmission and goes under the firewall. On my 30 pickup you have to take the floorboards out to get at the two 5/8 bolts that hold it on to the transmission. You then have to remove the two rods (one on the driver's side, one on the passenger's side) and it should drop right out. There are some great pictures on this thread..

Re: Throttle control linkage month
While it does go under the indent in the firewall, it actually bolts through the flywheel housing and into the back of the engine block.
