Identifying my "Model A spark plugs. Help!
I went to an estate sale recently that had a ton of original Model A Ford parts. In one "lot" that I purchased I got a huge amount of vintage spark plugs, most still in the original boxes. But what I am most curious about are these four Champion W16Y plugs. They were not in a box and the porcelain is not snowy white like on a new plug, but these must not have been used very long because they look like-new. They were in a cigar box marked Model A Ford plugs. My expertise on Model As is very lacking so I tried looking on line and at Macs to see if these are in deed for a Model A. The Champion plugs I find similar to these do not have the threaded knurl nut on the end of the plug. So I am hoping you guys on here can tell me if these are for something else or are early repros or what they are. Thanks in advance!

I put a set of W16Y from NAPA in a car a few years back and found they burn pretty dirty. It's a cold plug. W16Y's are not vintage plugs. They are, however, made for Model A. |

I am running Champion C-16C plugs. They were in the car when I got them. When I changed to a High Compression head I just cleaned them set the gap and put them back in. Seem to to fine.

They’re modern replacement plugs for the A, these or the 18’s are commonly used. Both are good plugs. Someone changed out the knurl nut for an older look.
