Default Part Sources

I need a new exhaust system for my 1929 A. (Currently have a cracked exhaust manifold, fairly rusty pipes and muffler). I have mostly dealt with MAC's. I recently got a Bert's of Denver catalog. They seem to be slightly cheaper and since closer to me in Washington maybe the shipping would be slightly less also.

Any recommendations?

Thank you

The best known parts dealers are MACs, Berts, Brattons, and Snyders, Somewhat lesser known are Smith and Jones, Mikes AFordable, Paul Ellis Ford Parts, and other who may every bit as good but just don't get the ink and are not as well known. I have personally visited Berts twice and Brattons once. Berts is probably the most interesting. They occupy about a acre in the middle of Denver. Their building has a store, warehouse, and mechanics shop. The rest of the land is a mod A junkyard. And you are allowed to wander and look.

Also, from experience, don't shop just by price alone. You're money ahead to spend a little more upfront and buy the best quality you can get.

I believe it was Bratton's who sell a really good ex. Manifold, maybe Snyder's I'm away on business right now, not home to see my parts catalogues and been a while since I bought one.......

I have had great service and quality from Brattons, Snyders and Berts. A couple of years ago I sent some headlight reflectors to Berts to be silver plated and when they sent them back one was different (maybe wrong year with different tabs? Can't remember). I gave them a call and they sent out new ones immediately, no questions. Fantastic service!! I have also called all three for advice and each one has been a big help. Can't say enough. Also A&L in CT is very good. I live 15 min from them so for me I can just run up there but they are manufactures for many parts, especially horns and also go out of their way to help.

I have only dealt with Berts. They have given me good reason to not go anywhere else.

I recommend you include your general location in your post (if it is important as it is in this case) and in your profile. There might be a small but very good place next to where you live and being able to get the parts across the counter and inspect them is very important. Also you can save shipping sometimes by having large items delivered to swap meets.
