Default Correct speedometer cable length ?

I wonder if someone can tell me the correct cable length for 42-47 Ford pickups ? Not sure the one in it now is right ?

As per the Green bible parts catalog it is 55 inches.

The casing sheath length is 54 inches.

Cable length is critical only in relation to the sheath it runs in. Too short obviously wouldn’t engage, but also, just 1/8” too long within the sheath will bind and kink up. Ask me how I know.
