Re: Radiator emblem
It should be pressed in. A broom handle will fit. Support the face of the radiator shell and avoid scratches and dents to the shell in the removal process. Epoxy the emblem back in place after replating.

Re: Radiator emblem
the original emblem retainer is made to push in one way and it is easier to remove them by using a screw driver and lightly tap around the retainer. it will bend the edge of the retainer and release the emblem. you can straighten out the retainer with a pair of pliers.

Re: Radiator emblem
The easiest way I found was to use a socket wrench that fits the back of the emblem and give it a firm hit with a mallet. Place one hand in front to catch the emblem.

Hence the availability of the "backing bar/nut" version from suppliers. Suggestions to "straighten" the back retainer of the badge may work. So might using epoxy. I have used a 1/8" cross section O-ring of appropriate diameter around the badge retainer which will squish into the interstice of the retainer and provide additional resistance to removal/loss of the badge. You may have to play with different cross section/diameters to find an appropriate fit. The Harbor Freight "o-ring" kits will give you many choices for small money. Joe K
