Default Fuel pump rod removal

Hey fellas what's the concensus on what to do with the hole when the fuel pump rod is no longer a necessity due to electric pump conversion.

Is there in fact an oulet for oil loss if the rod is completely eliminated? I've heard conflicting opinions. Can we get a concensus on this? Thanks!

Based on knowledgeable (ol Ron) feedback I received on here - I left it in. That was two years ago and no problems.

Mike, I always leave the fuel pump push rod in, that way, should the electric pump ever fail, you can always install an OEM manual pump to get you where you were going.

There will be an oil loss with the rod removed, there is a small hole in the bushing for the fuel pump rod.

I made a plug for mine, it needs to be a tight press fits. I also drilled it for a safety wire.

How does this differ from the 59A? I know the bush is thin wall, with no hole.
Is there a difference in the blocks? (other than for the bush)

The plug shown in post "7 is in a 59a block. I install the plug just to help keep the oil from splashing around in that area, it really is not need on a 59a.

Nothing. It won't make any difference.
