Bendix, '26 Model T
Can anyone tell me how to remove the collar on the end of the bendix so that I can replace the bendix gear? <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> |

Re: Bendix, '26 Model T
<center></center> Doug: I find this very difficult and have ruined as many as I get of successfully. I use a small drill to remove the material inside the two holes where they were peened. I then heat the sleave and unscrew them. I try to unscrew them by putting them in the vice with aluminum on both side of the sleave. If you are successful you will have to polish the sleave to remove any marks. When you put the sleave back on be sure to take a chisel and repeen the shaft. Good luck. <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> <ul>[*]Nan and Tweety Bird 2002 Montana 500 Winner.[/list] |
