1971 when I bought a 1946 Ford coupe, may have found out about club in Ford Life magazine I picked up at Greenfield Village.

I've thought about joining lately. I always heard stories about how the group hated hot rodders. Seems that might be changing somewhat in regards to the traditional hot rods. Can't blame them though, as I hate all the big wheels and billet everything myself...

I don't know about all the other groups but the Upstate of South Carolina guys are pretty cool about hot rods,,yeah,,there are still a few older guys that don't like them with chevy engines but if it looks pretty much stock they seem to except it as the ever changing times. HRP

Joined the club with my first 1934 Ford in 1972. A 38 year old V8 Ford
seemed older in 1972 than a 38 year old 1972 Torino does now. (Which
is what I was driving when I bought the 34 Ford.)

I joined in 06?, and have met some real cool old time hot rodders that still run and build hot rods, along with some real nice stock and restored fords in the club, and have met many others in other RGs.

a couple years earlier at a GGs show while standing in line at a EFV8CA booth,(not RG # 32 that i am in) i ended up leaving the line because they were telling one guy his stock looking ford had the wrong wheels and a hot rodded flathead in it.

I am a member of the Twin Cities Regeional Group.....Thats Minneapolis and St Paul, Minnesota, but we have members from many cities other than the Twin Cities.

You can join even if you don't have a car-one of our members car is a DeSoto and he is one of the most active guys in our club. I belong to the National Capital #36 group since 2004.

I've been a member for 22 years, also of Regional Group #8. A great club and a great group of families. I've driven my V-8s over 25,000 miles to 20 National Meets.

I am not a member. I am looking into joining Group # 8. I want to make sure the club approves of my truck. A lot of clubs frown on modifieds, I respect that, I've been in that situation before, I wouldn't blame a club for not wanting non stock vehicles in the ranks. That can make an uncomfortable fit. I learned not to try to force a fit, it's up to the current members.
I hope to introduce them to her and see if they like her, she's a little noisy but she grows on you.
