Electric Fuel Pump Fittings Quandary
So I found the electric fuel pump with all the features I was looking for, a Walbro FRB 13-2. Both inlet and output ports have 1/4" NPS (National Pipe STRAIGHT) not NPT (National Pipe Taper) threads and I can't get what I need for fittings. I need one straight barbed hose fitting for inlet and a 90 degree male/female fitting with one more hose fitting, that could be NPT, for output. I had two guys at Summit Racing give it a try, no go. I have to wonder why Walbro went with NPS threads, but I'm not an engineer. I would really appreciate any input from those more savvy in this area. Thanks!

Re: Electric Fuel Pump Fittings Quandary
I have always found that the rubber diafraghm inside those Walbro pumps
turn to "goo" as they were not resistant to ethanol gas. You might want to consider a better pump with 1/8 inch NPT fittings. |

I put a shut off valve directly out of the tank, then a filter and then to the fuel pump. I wanted to catch any crud before the fuel went to the pump.
