Re: Rubber running dressings
Armor-All if anything at all. Just soap and water mostly with a brush.

Re: Rubber running dressings
Armor-all used to have a dressing that didn't shine. It made rubber look new instead of putting that distasteful (to me) shine on it. Since I haven't been able to find it anymore, I just wash the rubber and let it go.
Edit: I found the bottle of ArmorAll that I used. It is called Low Gloss. It has a milky white color. It must not have been popular. Last edited by 40cpe; 06-01-2023 at 09:00 PM. |

Re: Rubber running dressings
Yes, I used to use glycerin based brake fluid on rubber and it did a good job. $.25 at good garage sales everywhere.

being black, it really gets hot-pounded by the sun' UV. The top material on closed cars - how does one protect that in any way - Thank you.

Re: Rubber running dressings
Kiwi shoe polish in the flat can. Put it on heavy brush it in good. Let it dry then buff it off with a clean brush final buff with a clean towel. I have been using it on the original running boards of my 36 for 50 years they look great and it lasts good also. You won’t be disappointed.

Re: Rubber running dressings
I used some Tire Shine on mine. Was extremely slippery. Kept people from standing on the boards.
